St. Brigid Parish – Unique, Vibrant and Welcoming

St. Brigid Parish was established in 1908. Our parish is unique because it works in collaboration with Gate of Heaven Parish, South Boston, while at the same time maintaining its own distinct identity and mission. There is one administration that works for the two parishes and two schools. St. Brigid currently has three priests that minister to these parishes living at the St. Brigid Rectory. This model has proven to be a life giving fraternity for the priests assigned to these parishes, making the St. Brigid Parish Office a hub of activity. These newly built offices also provide centralized administration, services and meeting space.
This model also enables St. Brigid to share resources and collaborate with Gate of Heaven for our Confirmation and Religious Education Programs.
St. Brigid Parish is a debt free parish that meets all of its financial obligations with over 1,400 active parishioners. It has the highest Mass attendance count in South Boston with 45% of all geographic parish Mass attendees going to our church.
The parish offers many programs including: RCIA, Adult Education, St. Vincent de Paul Society, Scouting, CYO, Marriage Preparation and community outreach.
St. Brigid is poised to answer the Archbishop’s call to “rebuild my church” through its collaborative approach to service and ministry. Our staff is ready to meet the ever changing needs of our church and community. We are looking forward to the future and the strengthening our faith family.
St. Brigid is conveniently located and on three MBTA bus lines and all are welcome to attend Mass here or to stop by the parish office.
We look forward to hearing from you!
